White House Immigration Reform Website
Offical White House website detailing the President's positions on immigration reform issues including "Blueprint for Reform", "Border Security", "Strengthening Enforcement", "Earned Citizenship" and "Streamlining Immigration". A Community of Contrasts: Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in California This report published by the Asian American Center for Advancing Justice attempts to address the invisibility of those most in need in our communities by providing the latest data on Asian Americans and NHPI from the U.S. Census Bureau and other key federal and state government agencies. Including important disaggregated data on discrete ethnic groups, this report works to dispel “model minority” myths by showing that many in our communities require access to social service programs such as culturally and linguistically sensitive K–12 education, unemployment benefits, job training, and health care. At the same time, the report promotes a better understanding of how our communities contribute to the state, demonstrating assets that should be used to strengthen California’s future. Nurturing Naturalization: Could Lowering the Fee Help? Released in February 2013 by CSII and the Partnership for New Americans, Nurturing Naturalization: Could Lowering the Fee Help? explores whether the $680 naturalization fee has become a major barrier to applying for U.S. citizenship for legal immigrants, an issue of key importance as Congress begins a broader debate about reforming our system of immigrant integration. OHR Endorses the Campaign for Language Access The Campaign for Language Access is an effort to increase language assistance for limited English proficient (LEP) community members who come into contact with law enforcement in Santa Clara County. A broad base of nonprofit organizations, community leaders, commissions, coalitions and other groups and agencies are partnering in this effort to address language barriers that LEP community members may experience when trying to communicate with the police. Looking Forward: Immigrant Contributions to the Golden State California Immigrant Policy Center's (CIPC) is proud to share with you the 2012 edition of their publication highlighting immigrant contributions to California. This report was prepared with invaluable assistance from the Center for the Study of Immigrant Integration at the University of Southern California. Free Citizenship Assistance OHR and HRC Produce Report on Impact of the Immigration Debate in Santa Clara County The Human Relations Commission in collaboration with the Office of Human Relations and numerous community based organizations recently published a public report entitled "Immigrant Voices; a Public Forum on Immigration".
