The 3rd Annual Luis "El Machete" Valdez Speaker Series Presents: Jose Carrasco
Dr. Jose Carrasco is a founding faculty of the Mexican American Studies Department and is a long time activist and community organizer. As Chair to one of the first programs of its kind in the country, he will give us an insiders view of the challenges and triumphs he experienced during his tenure. Taking us back to the years of the Chicano Movement in the Santa Clara Valley he will share insights to the times and events surrounding that historic movement. His work as an organizer in Santa Clara and the across the country will be of interest to those wanting to know more about this work and how it can create change in our communities.
