Though we are unable to host this year’s Veggie Fest in person due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are dedicated to hosting a virtual event to maintain the spirit of our annual celebration!

    This year’s Veggie Fest will have a particular focus on:
    1) the health benefits of a plant based diet
    2) the contributions of farm workers
    3) presentations on how to maintain physical and mental wellness amidst this pandemic.

    Understanding Incident Command System (ICS) for Nonprofits

    This FREE interactive workshop is designed for nonprofits, community-based organizations (CBOs) and faith-based organizations (FBOS) in the UASI South Bay Hub (Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties).This session will feature:  

    • An overview of how ICS is used within California’s Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
    • Benefits of using the Incident Command System – what it is and how it worksHow to apply the ICS concepts within a nonprofit setting
    •  Interactive situational role-playing activities

    This course designed for community volunteers, staff, and board members of nonprofit service providers and community-based organizations who want to better prepare and plan to meet the needs of their clients, consumers, volunteers, and staff for emergencies or disasters, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  These community preparedness sessions are open to interested representatives from CBOs, nonprofits, government and volunteers from throughout the region. The workshops are sponsored by the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (BAUASI).

    The course has been funded by the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (BAUASI). Registration is a two-step process:

    1) Register at the Bay Area Training and Exercise Program (BATEP) Portal at: www.batep.org 
    2) Once you have completed the registration, you will be sent an email from CADRE with information on how to log in to the scheduled ZOOM session no later than 24-48 hours prior to the start of the course
